Bowenwork Therapy
Between my daily job and the martial arts classes, I was putting a lot of strain on my legs and feet. My physician told me I had plantar fasciitis. I made honest efforts to do stretching exercises, but the pain got worse instead of better.
At that time I decided to give Bowen Therapy a try.
Darci Swenson had just recently started her Bowen Therapy, and I signed up for three sessions. She asked me some questions about the pain I’d recently been experiencing: where it hurt and how frequently I experienced it. She listened intently, then talked through what the Bowen procedure was going to be like.
My Bowen Therapy experiences were non-invasive and relaxing. Darci ensured a calm environment when she administered each procedure, guiding me to take deep breaths when needed, or to move my foot in a certain way as needed to complete the process. When each procedure was completed, Darci provided adequate follow-up suggestions for getting the most out of my Bowen Therapy experience.
After just three sessions, I no longer had the deep pains in my heels and feet. Within a week after my last Bowen Therapy session, I had no pain there at all. The best part? I didn’t have to change my job or my Tae Kwon Do classes to get better. I didn’t need to take any medications or have any surgery done to take away the pain for good. I firmly believe that the Bowen Therapy which Darci Swenson provided to me was what brought my body back into a pain-free balance, and I’m deeply grateful to her for that.”

I don’t really understand how Bowen works, but it does. I sprained my ankle about 6 months before seeing Darci, and although it had healed, every morning it was very stiff and I had a hard time walking down the stairs. After just one treatment, I’ve never had pain in that ankle again! She also helped me when I hurt my back, and one treatment took care of that also!

I had chronic neck pain due to an old injury. I received chiropractic treatments and it helped me tremendously, however, the pain would continually come back and I was going back for adjustments at least every other week. After seeing Darci the second time, I began to see some relief, and after the third visit, almost had complete relief. I saw her a total of four times, and don’t have the pain I used to have. The only time I experience neck pain now is when I do heavy work or do something to re-injure myself. And usually one trip to the chiropractor or Darci will cure me now!

Bowenwork for Children
My son was diagnosed with Acid Reflux two days after he was born. The doctor didn’t feel his reflux warranted a prescription, but my son was uncomfortable and in pain. A friend of mine suggested Bowen therapy as her son also suffered from acid reflux issues which were helped by Bowen. I was skeptical at first because this was not traditional medicine. However, when I met with Darci and she explained the treatment and its benefits I was much more comfortable, not to mention the amazing effect it had on my son! Within hours of his first treatment he had noticeably less spit up and he was eating better. He also began to sleep longer through the night! We went back for a second treatment and have not had to return since. My son was 6 weeks old when we first met with Darci and he is now nine months old. Thanks Darci!

Jacob was born 5 1/2 weeks early and was placed in Neonatal Intensive Care. After only a week in intensive care, Jacob was nursing well and thriving. He was released home. We needed to wake him to feed him, but he continued to do well.
Right around Jacob’s actual due date, life changed incredibly! He began to scream day and night as well as spit up a great deal. I nursed exclusively, so the doctors suggested watching my diet to see what the impact would be on my sons comfort. Nothing mattered! I cut out dairy. I cut out gassy foods. I tried gas drops on Jacob, but nothing helped.
After several discussions with our pediatrician, she then decided to prescribe the baby version of Zantac to Jacob for acid reflux. At this point, we were ready to try anything! I also asked the pediatrician about Bowen Therapy. She told me that it was worth a try. If it didn’t work, I should start the baby Zantac.
Well, after I bought the $90 bottle, I called Darci to set up our appointment. I am so happy that I was there to witness my son’s reaction to his first Bowen Therapy! I even said to Darci, ‘Did you see that? He looks so relieved.’ Needless to say, we never opened the prescription.
The real proof happened a few hours later that night. I had a meeting, so my husband needed to watch Jacob. My husband had no problems watching our daughter when she was an infant, but Jacob’s screaming until he fell asleep was something my husband had a hard time tolerating. Well, that evening when I came home we were all pleasantly surprised. My husband said it was the first time since Jacob was born that he fell asleep in his arms!
I wish I would have allowed Darci to perform the moves on Jacob earlier. Jacob was six months old when she did therapy on him. I know Jacob would have been much happier and we would have been able to sleep through the night much earlier than 6 months!
Darci and Bowen Therapy are such a blessing. Every infant born deserves to be comfortable and happy. I am glad that Darci has learned how to make that possible.

We had Bowen Therapy done on our son for his acid reflux when he was 8 months old. The procedure was completely uninvasive and took barely two minutes. The results were amazing, we could tell it had worked the very next day. He went from being a cranky child who spit up several times a day, to being a happy child who hardly ever spit up. We were so happy that we were able to take him off his medication for good!

Bowen for Animals
On Thanksgiving Day 3 years ago, we found our 17 year old Westie/Maltese at the bottom of our staircase unable to move and screaming in pain. We rushed her to the emergency vet clinic and were told that surgery was our only option. She was given pain meds to make her as comfortable as possible until we could consult with our own vet. Her age was a concern and we decided to look into alternative, less invasive treatments.
A friend told me about Darci and Bowen Therapy. We decided to try it, but were skeptical about how these simple pressure point touches Darci was performing would make any difference.
Munchkin had three sessions with Darci. We noticed a difference in her the day after the first treatment. By the end of the third session, she was running and playing with an energy we hadn’t seen even before her accident for quite some time. Our 17 year old dog was acting like a puppy again and was no longer on any pain medications.
We would strongly recommend Bowen Therapy. It is simply amazing and almost too good to be true. Darci gave Munchkin 3 more years without pain and we will always be grateful to her for those years she would not have had otherwise.

Darci, in my opinion, has saved my Italian Spinone dog’s life. In a matter of over night, Scruffy, who is almost 15 years old, went from being able to walk to collapsing hard to the floor when shaking herself or even sneezing. In just three treatments Scruffy was not only back to her “old self” but even running and hopping like a bunny. The results have been truly amazing. Words can’t describe how thankful I am toward Darci for the time she has spent working with Scruffy. I truly feel if it had not been for Darci, I would have had to put Scruffy down. Thank you so much Darci!
